Where to Buy ITSO Coffee in Toronto: Now at Karma Co-op and The Sweet Potato
Big news for Toronto coffee lovers: ITSO Coffee is now on shelves in the city. After years of shipping freshly roasted Kenyan coffee across Canada from our base in Oakville, we're thrilled to bring it closer to home for Torontonians — in two shops that genuinely align with what we stand for.
ITSO Coffee is a women-owned, Fairtrade-certified brand built around a single origin: the highlands of Kenya. Every bag we sell connects directly to the farmers who grew it. That story matters to us — and it turns out, it matters to the kinds of stores we wanted to partner with.
If you've been looking to buy Kenyan coffee in Toronto, here's exactly where to find us.
Karma Co-op — 739 Palmerston Ave, Toronto
|
STORE DETAILS Address: 739 Palmerston Ave, Toronto, ON Type: Worker-owned natural food co-op Hours: Mon–Fri 10am–8pm, Sat–Sun 10am–6pm (verify with store) Website: karmacoop.org |
Karma Co-op has been a Toronto institution for decades. It's a worker-owned co-operative that curates every product on its shelves with genuine care — natural, organic, ethically sourced goods from producers who can back up their claims. It's the kind of store where the people stocking the shelves actually know the story behind what they're selling.
When we approached Karma Co-op about carrying ITSO Coffee, the conversation was easy. Our Fairtrade certification, direct relationships with Kenyan farming cooperatives, and women-led supply chain were exactly what they look for in a new brand. ITSO Coffee fits naturally alongside the values Karma Co-op has built its reputation on.
Look for ITSO on the coffee and grocery shelves. We carry both our Medium Roast and Dark Roast — whole bean and ground — so whether you're a pour-over purist or a French press devotee, there's a bag for you. The Sweet Potato — 1987 Queen St W, Toronto
|
STORE DETAILS Address: 1987 Queen St W, Toronto, ON Type: Organic and natural grocery Neighbourhood: Roncesvalles / Parkdale Website: thesweetpotato.ca |
The Sweet Potato on Queen West is one of Toronto's most beloved organic grocers. Tucked into the Roncesvalles neighbourhood, it's been serving conscious shoppers for years — sourcing from local producers and small brands that prioritize quality and transparency over mass production.
Walking into The Sweet Potato feels like shopping from a carefully edited list. Everything there has earned its place. We're proud to be part of it.
ITSO Coffee sits in their grocery and specialty food section. If you're in the neighbourhood — or just exploring Queen West — it's worth stopping in. And if you want to understand what makes Kenyan coffee different from other origins, we've written about exactly that.
Why These Two Stores? The ITSO Standard
We didn't choose these locations for foot traffic or shelf space. We chose them because they reflect what ITSO Coffee is about. Both stores are community-rooted. Both prioritise ethical sourcing. Both attract customers who read labels, ask questions, and care where their money goes.
ITSO Coffee is Fairtrade certified and sourced directly from the Kipkelion Women in Coffee Cooperative in Kenya's highlands. The farmers we work with are women. The brand was founded by a woman. And the stores carrying our coffee are the kind of places where that story resonates — not as a marketing angle, but as a genuine reason to choose one bag over another.
We talk more about our sourcing philosophy and the farmers behind every bag on the ITSO Coffee homepage. It's the foundation of everything we do.
